The 5 Most Popular Greenhouse Blog Posts of 2016

As 2016 comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the highlights of this past year. And what better way to do that then to review some of the most popular posts from the Greenhouse Blog?

So without further ado, here are the top 5 posts of the year, and a few of the major lessons they’ve taught us.

1. The 5 KPIs We Use to Measure Recruiting Success at Greenhouse: Intro


The recap: In this post, Greenhouse’s Director of Talent Acquisition, Lauren Ryan, shares the criteria that she used when considering which key performance indicators (KPIs) the Greenhouse recruiting team should use to measure their success.

2. Mark Your Calendars! 14 HR and Recruiting Events to Attend in 2016


The recap: Just what it sounds like! This post outlines 14 of the can’t-miss HR and recruiting events of 2016.

The takeaway: Recruiters are looking for opportunities to learn and network with their peers. We get it—you’re keen to dedicate time to professional development, and you’re especially excited to do it amongst other people-people! Keep your eyes peeled for a similar post on this blog in early 2017.

3. The 5 KPIs We Use to Measure Recruiting Success at Greenhouse: KPI #5


The recap: In the final post in our series on the recruiting KPIs we use at Greenhouse, Director of Talent Acquisition Lauren Ryan outlines “hires to goal” and explains how all the other KPIs lead to this one.

The recap: In 2015, Greenhouse launched our inaugural Recruiting Optimization Summit, and in 2016, we expanded to offer Greenhouse OPEN: a three-day learning and networking event. This post announced the event and offered a sneak peek of some of the excitement in store for attendees.

The takeaway: We already knew that the Greenhouse community was focused on professional development, networking opportunities, and the opportunity to attend really fun parties—the popularity of this post just confirmed it. BTW, we’ll have some news about OPEN 2017 soon!

5. HR Reinvented: The New People Teams


The recap: In this post, Greenhouse VP of People & Strategy Maia Josebachvili outlines what differentiates the New People Teams from traditional HR. A few of the key factors include being consulted vs. informed, deliberate vs. reactive, and strategic vs. tactical.

The takeaway: For many people in this industry, HR no longer feels like the right label for our department and the work we’re doing. We’re ready to be taken seriously in our roles and hungry for more responsibility.
